North Vancouver RCMP stopped a motorcyclist late last night for traveling 160 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, double the posted speed limit.

Police said the rider received an excessive speeding ticket and was cited for failing to produce both a driver’s license and insurance papers. The motorcycle was also towed from the scene.

The fines totaled $645. “They walked away alive, but with $645 in fines,” North Vancouver RCMP said in a statement. Police added that dangerous speeds like this put everyone at risk and urged drivers to slow down to ensure they get home safely.
