A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital after a serious crash on the Sea to Sky Highway in West Vancouver on Saturday evening.

In a media release, West Vancouver Police said the collision happened yesterday at about 7 pm near Horsehoe Bay. Two motorcyclists riding together in the same lane collided, causing one of the riders to lose control and leave the roadway before striking a rock wall.

Emergency Health Services and West Vancouver Fire and Rescue provided life-sustaining measures at the scene before the female rider was flown to the hospital in critical condition. The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) assisted in the investigation. The highway reopened after about two hours.

“The West Vancouver Police Department thanks the public for their patience and cooperation,” the release stated. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact West Vancouver Police at 604-925-7300 and quote file #25-8927.
