Mount Seymour Parkway closure continues; stay home when possible: DNV

November 5, 2022 5:42pm

Power remains out in areas of Lynn Valley and other parts of North Vancouver as BC Hydro crews work to restore power to thousands of customers and traffic intersections.

“It continues to be a frustrating day to get around the municipality. Traffic is still significantly backed up and RCMP is on the way to help. Mount Seymour Parkway closure continues as BC Hydro works on repairs,” said DNV.

Many DNV-run intersections are running on generators, and its best that people remain home if possible, says DNV.

Mount Seymour Parkway is CLOSED between Riverside Dr and Lillooet Rd as @bchydro crews repair downed power lines. Please use Dollarton Highway instead and allow extra time if you're traveling to or from that area. #NorthVan pic.twitter.com/bC9gxy6snl

“Crews are working hard to help people get around safely, but the best advice is to stay home when possible to allow repairs & clean-up to happen,” said DNV in a tweet.

Power has been restored to more than 230,000 customers and more than 100 crews continue to be busy repairing damaged power lines, power poles and other equipment
