Mt. Fromme parking lot is closed

February 12, 2021 10:28am

District of North Vancouver has closed down the Fromme Mountain parking lot.

The parking lot will be closed until February 15 due to winter conditions.

The park, however, will remain open.

All trails in the District are open, with the exception of Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge and Quarry Rock.

The re-opening date for these two trails is not yet known.

Metro Vancouver also warns about avalanche risk at Grouse Mountain.

“The upper portion of some trails at Grouse Mountain Regional Park lie in terrain that in winter can be subject to significant avalanche risk,” Metro Vancouver says.

“The Grouse Grind Trail — which is currently closed — lies in complex avalanche terrain with a HIGH avalanche risk. The BCMC Route lies in mostly simple avalanche terrain with a low avalanche risk. Please consult signs on site for the most up-to-date information.”

Meanwhile, the gravel fields in the City of North Vancouver are currently closed but will be re-inspected before 3:30 pm by work crews today.

“We expect some snow this evening and very early tomorrow morning and this may impact fields. Keep a watch on our feed for updates and closures,” CNV said.
