STAFF REPORT
March 16, 2021 4:46pm

Neptune has has adopted a section of the Bridle Path as part of the Trail Adoption Program (TAP).

The North Shore Mountain Bike Association (NSMBA) is a volunteer driven non-profit organization dedicated to caring for a sustainable trail network within the community.

This investment funds volunteer engagement and supports the builders and the trail crew in maintaining a safe and well-marked trail.

NSMBA’s Communications Manager Ryan Pugh says, “We have seen a huge uptake in trail usage during the pandemic. Almost all trails the NSMBA maintains are multi-use and we are seeing many more hikers and runners in addition to bikers.”

The goal of the TAP is to make sure that the network of trails is safe and fun for everyone. Many of Neptune’s staff live in the local area and use the trails frequently.

In the words of Brad Walker, Vice President, Health & Safety at Neptune, “I have three sons who are all avid mountain bikers. The trails are a second home to them, and my wife and I (when we can keep up!). The TAP is so important for the well-being of our trails and our community.”
