The District of West Vancouver has received a preliminary development application for a proposed multi-family development that includes 3 duplex buildings (6 units) at 14 Glenmore Drive.

The development by Sterling Pacific Development will include a new rear lane and new sidewalk along Glenmore Drive.  The subject property is zoned RM4 which permits the construction of such duplexes.

The applicant is holding a preliminary public consultation meeting on September 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. to gather feedback from the neighbourhood. The meeting will be held at #10 636 Clyde Avenue in West Vancouver. All public comments from that meeting will be provided to the District’s Planning and Development Service Department.

“The proposed two-storey duplex homes are designed to have their garages face the rear via a newly dedicated laneway so that the existing access design of the site is maintained  with only one entrance onto Glenmore Drive,” the developer say. “The Official Community Plan adopted by the residents of West Vancouver seeks to expand opportunities for duplex homes.”

This proposal has not been submitted as a formal rezoning application and is still within the preliminary development proposal stage. Once submitted as a formal rezoning application, the District will process the development application in compliance with the Development Procedures Bylaw that requires ongoing public consultation.

The developer plans to design the duplex in accordance with West Vancouver’s properties at in the surrounding area and in keeping with the design of the single-family, duplex and multi-family homes in the neighbourhood.
