Staff report
March 14, 2024 9:57am

Beginning this summer, the District will begin construction of four new outdoor pickleball courts in Ambleside Park.

This project follows recommendations from the Pickleball Advisory Roundtable, established in October 2023, to support the growth of pickleball in our community. The new courts will be situated south of the Spirit Trail, on H Field, a gravel field primarily used for parking. The placement of the courts meets with recommendations from Pickleball BC regarding noise mitigation.

Construction will begin this summer and be completed in the fall of 2024. A budget of $350,000 has been allocated to building the new pickleball courts, which will provide additional recreational facilities and expand recreational opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages. Residents are asked to visit westvancouver.ca/courts for more information and project updates and to sign up to receive email updates.

At their closed meeting on Monday, March 4, the Council approved the recommendation to allocate $350,000 to construct four outdoor pickleball courts at Ambleside Park, as the Pickleball Advisory Roundtable recommended.
