New two-storey, 10,000 square feet restaurant coming to Lonsdale Quay

staff report
April 21, 2023 4:44am

King Taps will be opening a two-story, 10,000 square foot Metro Vancouver flagship location at The Quay, part of a revitalization of the Lonsdale Quay.

Brought to Lonsdale Quay Market by the team behind the iconic Cactus Club Cafe, the restaurant is a blend of a neighborhood hangout with downtown service, selection and style, the market said in a press release.  King Taps is known for their signature hand-stretched pizzas made with 24-hour aged dough. The menu focuses on fresh, high-quality dishes including shareable entrees, mouth-watering burgers, as well as salads and bowls made in-house.

King Taps at Lonsdale Quay Market will be all about seriously good food, creating an inviting and energetic space where art and music are complemented by the North Shore’s most scenic waterfront patio.

“The Lonsdale flagship location will have one of the best beverage selections on the North Shore, with inventive cocktails, a sommelier-driven wine program, and of course dozens upon dozens of rotating taps,” says the press release. Construction is underway for the third King Taps location, which also runs restaurants in downtown Kelowna’s waterfront. The first King Taps opened in Toronto’s Financial District in 2017 and has since become a well-loved local hotspot.

The new restaurant is part of a broad revitalization work underway at Lonsdale Quay Market involves upgrades to the exterior, a new evolved food hall, new brewery operator; expansion by existing tenants and more programs being offered at the market.

What the quay needs is a theatre. As Granville island did. There are two at Granville island. Other than eat and drink at the quay, what is there?
