The 16th annual North Shore Community Foundation (NSCF) Charity Golf Tournament, presented by DARWIN, will be hosted by Seymour Golf & Country Club, Friday, June 2 this year.
“It is hard to turn our minds to golf with all this beautiful snow, yet that is what our supporters and sponsors have done over the last two weeks. First in, every year, since day one, David and Oliver Webbe, Darwin, have responded to our invitation with a resounding yes,” said Michael Boehm, President NSCF, and Golf Committee Chair. “Byron Chard, Chard Development, was next in, and has chosen the 2023 Dinner Sponsorship; we are thrilled to have Chard’s support.”
David Webbe, Chairman of Darwin, said Darwin is proud to support the foundation, and together we can make a difference in the community.
Over the last 15 years, NSCF has disbursed/granted $800,000 to North Shore based Not for Profits including Harvest Project, North Shore Disability Resource Centre, Athletics For Kids, Avalon Recovery Centre, Turning Point, Hollyburn Family Services, Quest Food Exchange. In 2022, the $50,000 recipient was North Shore Women’s Centre: specifically, their “Girls Empowerment Program”.
NSCF has created an Endowment fund from proceeds of the golf tournament; at present this fund has more than $1 million in it, and the NSCF overall endowment fund has over 5 million. These funds will benefit the North Shore for generations to come. Founded in 1987 as the North Shore Community Foundation Administration Fund, NSCF has granted over $1.5 million to charities and community groups involved in the betterment of the North Shore Community.
The NSCF mission statement: To create a stronger and healthier North Shore community for not just today, but for generations to come.
This event was formerly known as The North Shore Mayors’ Tournament, rebranded to NSCF Tournament in 2019. The fundraising tournament is fully endorsed and supported by Mayors’ Buchanan and Little, who will be in attendance on June 2.
Sponsors for 2023 include: Adera, Allwest Insurance Services Ltd., BA Blacktop, Barricades and Signs, British Columbia Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA), British Pacific Properties, Browns Socialhouse North Vancouver, Capilano Group, CHARD Development, Concert Properties, CREUS Engineering, Darwin, G3 Terminal Vancouver (G3TV), Grouse Mountain Resorts, Ignite Management, Mercedes-Benz North Vancouver, Neptune Terminals, Northshore Carter GM, PARC Retirement Living, Polygon, RBC North Shore, Richardson International, The Strongman Group, Trans Mountain, Tybo Contracting, Western Stevedoring and Woodbridge Homes.

Karmali goes on to say: “The live auction is always a wonderful fundraiser for us. This year we have a Grouse Mountain Behind the Scenes Experience, which includes an overnight stay on the mountain. Plus, Lugaro Jewellers have donated a watch. James Lester, Sons of Vancouver Distillers, has donated a keg of their award-winning whisky; this will be a great investment for the high bidder!”
The fundraising goal for 2023 is to raise $100,000 and more, of which $50,000 will be awarded to a North Shore Charity or Not for Profit, and $50,000 will be invested in the endowment fund. NSCF Board will announce the charity recipient in April 2023.
2023 tournament promises to be even better than 2022, therefore attendees are in for another great golf event. https://online.fliphtml5.com/inflf/qnza/
