Forecasters expect a vigorous Pacific frontal system to bring steady rain that will intensify overnight, with total rainfall amounts reaching between 50 to 90 mm and potentially higher in the North Shore mountains.
This rain will likely lead to water pooling on roads, challenging travel conditions, and increased risks of washouts, rockfalls, and landslides in susceptible areas. Flash floods are also possible during heavy downpours, prompting additional caution near rivers, creeks, and culverts.
Rain is expected to moderate by Wednesday afternoon as the front passes, eventually easing to light showers in the evening.
