North Shore firefighters aim to ship 3,000 winter jackets and blankets to people in Ukraine

West Vancouver Fire & Rescue and District of North Vancouver stations are currently accepting donations of winter clothing and blankets to help bring warmth to people in Ukraine.

West Vancouver firefighters are lending their support to District of North Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services Project Frozen initiative, which aims to collect 3,000 winter jackets and blankets, and $15,000 for shipping costs to Ukraine.

Most-needed items for this donation drive include: Adult and children’s jackets, sweatshirts and pants, winter socks, mitts and gloves, toques, blankets and sleeping bags.

Donations can be dropped off at any North Shore fire station, including the following West Vancouver fire halls:

Fire Station No. 1
760 16th Street
Fire Station No. 2: Horseshoe Bay
6272 Marine Drive

Fire Station No. 3: Caulfeild
4895 Marine Drive
Fire Station No. 4: British Properties
965 Cross Creek Road

Items can also be dropped off at all five stations in the District of North Vancouver.

Project Frozen monetary donations, which will include a tax receipt, can be made through District of North Vancouver Firefighters Charitable Society or Defend Ukraine Foundation.
