Update: COVID-19 cases continue to increase on North Shore.
According to the latest weekly data, from August 15 to 21, there were 96 new cases reported on the North Shore. Of these, 72 cases were from North Vancouver, and 24 cases from West Vancouver.
Last week, from August 8 to 14, there were 64 cases reported on the North Shore.
Week before that, from Aug 1 to 7, there were 51 cases reported on the North Shore, and 29 cases in the week before that.
The Province today said it has recorded a ‘significant increase’ in the number of vaccine registrations and bookings for first doses, particularly among people under the age of 40.
On Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, there were 8,909 new registrations and 7,347 new appointment bookings.
This represents a 174.8% increase in daily registrations and an 88.6% daily increase in bookings compared to the previous Monday, which recorded 3,242 new registrations and 3,896 bookings.
“Getting vaccinated is the most important step we can all take to move out of this pandemic, and the momentum this week is positive news,” said Adrian Dix, Minister of Health.
