North Van RCMP arrest man after stabbing at construction site

Staff report
June 5, 2025 5:03pm

North Vancouver RCMP have arrested a man for assault after a reported stabbing at a construction site.

On June 5, 2025, just before noon, North Vancouver RCMP received several reports of an assault at a construction site near West 1st Street and Pemberton Avenue. It is alleged that a man entered the site and assaulted a worker. Numerous frontline officers, including West Vancouver Police Department (WVPD) officers who were nearby, responded to the incident.

The suspect was taken into custody a short distance away. The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by paramedics. The suspect and victim are known to each other.

“This was a frightening and unsettling incident for the workers at the construction site,” said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. “Thanks to the quick response of RCMP and WVPD officers, the suspect was arrested.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage and has not spoken to the police is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 25-11369.
