In a post on Twitter, North Van RCMP said the officer was conducting enforcement at the intersection of Main Street and Mountain Highway on April 23, one of the ‘high-crash’ hot spots.
Between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., the officer issued eight tickets to drivers for using their phones while behind the wheel. “Normally, it takes about 15 minutes to write one ticket,” North Vancouver RCMP noted. On April 22, police conducted another speeding enforcement. Those who made that decision on Friday night lost their vehicles for 7 days and were each issued an excessive speeding fine starting at $368,” the detachment said.
Officers reported that most drivers complied with speed limits, but several were caught travelling at excessive speeds and faced immediate roadside penalties.

At that location they should be enforcing/ ticketing vehicles that use and block the Dollarton lane to jump the bridge lineup.
The city obviously doesn’t care about its tax payers East of the bridge. The traffic now is 5x to 8x as long to get home now.
Instead we have RCMP walking along ticketing people on the phones who aren’t even moving more than a 2km to 5km at that time of day.
