North Van RCMP investigating suspicious incident on Second Narrows bridge

Staff report
August 12, 2024 4:13pm

North Vancouver RCMP are investigating a suspicious incident on the Second Narrows Bridge.

On August 10, 2024, North Vancouver RCMP received a report from bicyclists about a wire tied across the bike lane on the east side of the bridge on the north end.  The cyclist removed the wire to prevent anyone from being injured and reported the incident to the Police the next day.

“We are extremely fortunate that the wire injured no one,” said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver. “We’re asking anyone who has witnessed suspicious activity or has information about this incident to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca. Please quote file #2024- 16096.

Good for him in reporting it. Buy why the next day?

wow, who would do that? Why would anyone want to hurt or potentially kill a cyclist going fast down the bridge walk/bike lane? I’m just shocked at how some people want to hurt others in such a way for no reason what-so-ever. Its scary that these people walk among us.

I also agree with Tara. We have designated lanes in many places to keep cyclists as safe from harm as possible. There is no excuse for some self-obsessed creep to deliberately attempt to commit murder.
