An employee at a local school in North Vancouver has been arrested on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography.
The employee at the Lynnmour Xá7elcha Elementary School was arrested yesterday, according to a report in the Vancouver Sun.
The employee has not been named.
North Van RCMP Sgt. Peter DeVries told the Vancouver Sun the person was released from custody on conditions.
Those conditions include no contact or communications with children under the age of 16. The employee can’t attend any public area where children are present.
Cindy Hudson, the school principal, was quoted by the paper as saying that the person worked at the school but the work didn’t involve working with the kids.
“I want to assure you that today, our school community is safe,” Hudson wrote.
The employee has been suspended without pay.
