A North Vancouver driver faces fines and vehicle impoundment after being stopped for exceeding the 30 km/h school zone limit by 48 km/h, according to the RCMP.

On Monday, one of our traffic officers stopped a driver who was travelling 48 km/h over the posted 30 km/h speed limit in a school zone. According to a social media post, the driver was fined $483 and had their vehicle impounded for seven days. The traffic officer continued enforcement throughout the day, issuing a total of 48 tickets during a 10-hour shift.

The RCMP noted that these efforts highlight the importance of strict enforcement in maintaining road safety, particularly in areas designed to protect children.
