A man has been arrested following an alleged stabbing at Capilano Mall on Sunday morning, according to North Vancouver RCMP.
Police say the incident occurred on September 14 around 9:45 a.m., when officers responded to reports of a fight between two men inside the mall, located at 935 Marine Drive. When officers arrived, they found one man with injuries consistent with being stabbed by an edged weapon. He was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
On Monday, September 15, the BC Prosecution Service laid charges against Howard Hough, a North Vancouver resident. He has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats. “As the investigation is in its very early stages, there are a lot of unanswered questions that police are seeking answers for,” said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, media relations officer for the North Vancouver RCMP.
RCMP say the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing risk to the public. Police are asking any witnesses who have not yet spoken to investigators to call 604-985-1311 and reference file #25-19557.
