North Vancouver RCMP are investigating three cases of mischief at a park in North Vancouver. Police received a report from park staff of a suspected arson that occurred at Delbrook Park, located at 714 West Queens Road, at approximately 9:30 p.m. the night prior.
It’s alleged that the suspect set a garbage bin inside the washroom on fire, also damaging the floor. A possible suspect was seen leaving the area by a witness, who described the man as being in his 30s, wearing a black hoodie with the hood over his head, and holding a cup.
Later that day, at 6:30 p.m., North Vancouver RCMP received a second report of arson from park staff. It’s alleged that a roll of toilet paper was set on fire inside one of the washrooms. A second washroom had wet balls of toilet paper thrown at the ceiling and walls. It’s suspected that these two washrooms were targeted sometime between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. No suspects were seen during this incident.
“We’re fortunate that no major damage occurred in any of these incidents,” said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for North Vancouver RCMP. “But it’s deeply concerning. These reckless acts of mischief could have caused serious property damage and significant financial loss.”
“We’re asking anyone who may have seen something, or has information or video footage, to come forward and speak with us. Even a small detail could make a big difference in our investigation.”
Anyone with information, or who may have witnessed the incidents or recorded video footage and has not yet spoken to police, is asked to contact North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file number 2025-21203.
