North Vancouver RCMP is renewing plea to identify sexual assault suspect with newly obtained video.

On October 2, 2024, North Vancouver RCMP issued a public plea after reports of three sexual assaults that occurred in the Lower Lonsdale area. A fourth victim has since come forward after seeing the media release, reporting that she too was groped from behind by a man riding an E-bike on July 22—a witness obtained cell phone video of the suspect fleeing the area. Investigators are releasing that video and a still image of the suspect, hoping someone may recognize him.

Police are also investigating a fifth incident of groping that occurred on November 14 near West Keith Road and Chesterfield Avenue where a woman, who was walking, was groped by a man from behind. The suspect in this incident is described as approximately 6 feet tall, brown skin tone, hairy legs, wearing a black sweater with white logo on the front left corner and black shorts.

Although there appear to be similarities in each incident, investigators are not ruling out that there might be different suspects.

“Investigators are working extremely hard on all these cases, reviewing CCTV footage, conducting extensive neighborhood canvasses and following up on all leads to identify the suspect(s),” said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. “Our efforts have been negative so far and we are seeking public assistance to help further these investigations by identifying the suspect caught on video. Your assistance could be pivotal in bringing these investigations to a successful resolution and ensuring the safety of our community.”
