A 28-year-old woman from North Vancouver has died after a two-vehicle collision that shut down Highway 97 near MacKenzie on Saturday afternoon.
BC Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 1:45 p.m. on August 16 at Bijoux Falls, when a black Dodge Ram 3500 pickup towing a flat deck trailer collided with a black Ford Bronco. The driver and passenger in the Dodge Ram were taken to the hospital, along with the driver and one passenger in the Bronco. The North Vancouver woman, who was also a passenger in the Bronco, did not survive.
Investigators say they are particularly interested in how both vehicles were driving in the minutes leading up to the crash.
“Police are very interested in how these vehicles were driving in the minutes leading up to the collision, and we’re looking for more witnesses who saw that black Ford Bronco or the black Dodge Ram towing a trailer,” said Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. “If you have dash camera footage that’s also crucial.”
Anyone with information or dash cam video is asked to contact BC Highway Patrol – Prince George at 250-649-6004, quoting file (3100) 2025-664.
