Notice: Power outage planned in North Vancouver

Staff Report
November 26, 2025 6:57am

BC Hydro will cut power to parts of the City of North Vancouver on Saturday, Nov. 29, as the utility continues work to connect customers to the new Capilano Substation.

BC Hydro announced the planned outage in a notice issued on Nov. 24. According to the notice, the outage will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will affect customers in an area stretching from West 29th Street to West 25th Street, and between Westview Drive and Claire’s Alley/Chesterfield Avenue.

BC Hydro says the interruption is required to safely move customers onto the newly built substation, which is designed to improve system reliability and strengthen service across the area. The work is part of a multi-month plan that will transition neighbourhoods to the substation in phases. The utility says all affected customers have been notified. More information is available on BC Hydro’s Planned Outages webpage or by calling 1-800-244-9376.
