One person arrested after homicide in West Vancouver

West Vancouver Police has arrested one person in a homicide investigation in West Vancouver. In a press release, police said officers responded to a 911 call  and located a deceased person at an apartment. In the early hours of December 13th, 2024, the West Vancouver Police were dispatched to check the well-being of a 911 caller in the Ambleside District.

Officers located a deceased person in an apartment, and the initial investigation resulted in the arrest of a person present at the scene.

“We want to assure the public that there is no ongoing risk to their safety”, said WVPD spokesperson Sgt. Chris Bigland. “At this time, the investigation is in the evidence gathering phase and it is believed to be an isolated incident. We urge anyone with information or that was in the area of the 1400 block of Esquimalt Avenue around 1:00 AM to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 and ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca”.

IHIT has taken conduct of the investigation and are working closely with members of the West Vancouver Police Department.
