Parkgate cancels spring break camps, shuts down child care

All seniors programming is also cancelled until further notice
STAFF REPORT
March 16, 2020 9:26am

Parkgate Society has cancelled all spring break camps and closed child care at the centre because of concerns about COVID-19.

Parkgate said it had made the difficult decision to temporarily close child care effective today, March 16.

The infant and toddler program as well as the spring day camps will also all be closed.

“We have the responsibility to our community to keep safe, therefore we are as cautious as possible. We are thanking you for your cooperation and understanding,” the society said.

All seniors programming is also cancelled until further notice, including the Seymour Access Bus. Seniors who need assistance with shopping can contact Katie at kkearney@myparkgate.com.

Parkgate Youth Services Department has also made the decision to cancel the Spring Break Youth Drop-in Programs that run from March 19 to March 28.

The April 4 pre-teen dance has also been cancelled.

However, registration for the May and June dances is still scheduled to open at 7 am on Wednesday, March 18.

The youth services team will continue to be in the office for any youth who needs support.

To keep up-to-date with the latest information about the status of the facility, refer to the North Vancouver Recreation & Culture website.
