Parking maxed out at Lynn Valley, Deep Cove parks

Staff report
June 25, 2022 1:07pm

Parking lots at popular District of North Vancouver lots is full and District is urging people to use transit. Parking at Cates Park/Whey-ah-Wichen is now full and people trying to get to the park should take transit.

Parking is also maxed out at Lynn Canyon Park. “Please give our park – and neighbours – a break by considering a different park today, or leave your car at home and come by transit,” urges DNV.

“Did you know there is additional parking for Lynn Canyon along Lillooet Rd to the east of the park? If you’re planning a visit when it’s busy, why not give it a try?  Spend less time waiting to park, and more time in the great outdoors.”

Lynn Canyon Park is one of the District’s most popular parks, attracting more than one million visitors annually. During the busy summer season, high-volume traffic has led to traffic congestion and overflow parking into adjacent neighbourhoods.

Those driving to Deep Cove can also expect major parking headaches.  DNV is asking visitors to “save yourself the hassle” and use overflow lots only. “Don’t drive into the Village centre and remember that parking on Panorama Dr. is only for locals,” says DNV.
