STAFF REPORT
March 30, 2020 4:15pm

City of North Vancouver and Vancouver Coastal Health will provide unrestricted street parking in neighbourhoods near Lions Gate hospital.

Parking tickets will also be waived if Lions Gate Hospital staff or physicians get ticketed during a work shift while parking close to the hospital.

VCH will have a similar arrangement with the City of Richmond and the City of Vancouver for parking at Vancouver General Hospital and Richmond Hospital.

Health-care workers, staff, visitors and the public will no longer have to pay for parking at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) owned and operated sites.

Pay parking will be suspended until further notice, effective April 1.

Free parking will be available at all VCH owned and operated lots and at designated Impark lots near VCH health-care facilities.

This change will make it easier for people  to avoid touching screens and buttons at payment kiosks that may have been touched by someone. It also supports physical distancing measures that have been mandated by the Provincial Health Officer, VCH said.
