Police investigate stabbing at Guildford Mall in Surrey

staff report
February 21, 2024 7:57pm

Surrey RCMP officers are currently at the scene of a stabbing incident at Guildford Town Centre Mall, situated in the Guildford area of Surrey.

The incident occurred on February 21, 2024, at approximately 6:08 pm.  Upon their arrival, officers found a 40-year-old female and a 35-year-old male suffering from stab wounds. They were rushed to a local hospital, where the female victim is in critical condition, while the male victim remains stable.

Preliminary investigations suggest a confrontation took place between the victims and the male assailant. Currently, officers are at the scene, conducting interviews and seeking any available surveillance footage.

The investigation remains in its early stages, and authorities have not determined whether there was any pre-existing relationship between the victims and the suspect or if the attack was targeted.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or potential footage from the vicinity of Guildford Mall between 6:00 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, quoting file number 2024-25210. Those wishing to report anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or visit www.solvecrime.ca.

The Surrey RCMP continues to investigate the incident, and further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
