Police in West Vancouver are searching for a man who tried to steal from a Park Royal store, but was badly injured while doing so.
The incident happened yesterday around 11:25 when a man walked into the Atmosphere store in Park Royal, and tried to smash the display case with a hammer.
He also took some bear spray and ran from the store, but suffered a cut in the process, leading to a ‘lot of blood’ in the store, said Cst. Kevin Goodmurphy of West Vancouver RCMP.
The dark-skinned man in his 40s was last seen near Capilano Road and Marine Drive.
West Vancouver police is now reviewing CCTV footage from the mall, and are trying to find out who the suspect.
Police are also urging anyone who knows the suspect to contact them at 604-925-7300.
