Police seek witnesses to unprovoked assault in North Vancouver

Staff report
March 24, 2025 3:10pm

North Vancouver RCMP are looking for witnesses and dash-cam footage to further their investigation of an unprovoked assault.
On March 20, 2025, at approximately 8:30 am, officers responded to reports of an assault near the intersection of Marine Dr and Lloyd Ave in North Vancouver, BC. It’s alleged that a flagger conducting their flagging work was approached by a male who requested a lighter. When the flagger was unable to provide a lighter, the suspect allegedly assaulted the flagger. The victim suffered injuries as a result of the assault but did not require hospitalization.

North Vancouver RCMP officers immediately responded, located the suspect nearby and arrested him. He has since been released with a court date of June 11, 2025.

“This was a frightening and unsettling incident for the victim,” said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. “Thanks to the quick response of our officers, the suspect was arrested. However, our investigation is ongoing. We are asking anyone in the Marine Drive and Lloyd Avenue area between 8:20 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. on March 20th who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.”

Anyone who witnessed or has video of the incident is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 25-5511.

Oh yeah, good idea the cops “let him go“ so we can go and do it again to somebody else while they continue their “investigation” OMG

Why release someone that randomly assaulted another person with no justification?

The public would be better served if this person was incarcerated until his trial.

If the law stipulates otherwise then change the law.
