Presentation House Theatre will stage Pop! Pop! from October 24 to November 2, 2025, in North Vancouver. The interactive guided-play production, created by Ontario’s Carousel Players, is designed for children ages 2 to 4 and their caregivers.
Playwrights Linda A. Carson and Monica Dufault have built a colourful undersea-themed setting filled with puppets, live music, and soundscapes. The play follows characters “Hide” and “Seek,” who respond differently as they explore a vibrant new world and uncover surprises along the way.
“I try to make a piece of theatre that engages everyone who comes to it, not just the children, but the adults who bring them to the theatre,” Carson said. “This is a show for preschool children so for some, it will be their first time at the theatre. I like to make sure their experience is meaningful from the moment they enter the doors to the moment they leave the space.”
Carson added that she hopes audiences will leave with an eagerness to “explore and be curious about our world, adventure into it and care for what we find out there.” Families can also visit a sensory space before and during the show. It features interactive stations, tactile and visual play, a cozy tent with blankets and pillows, and calming music.
