A popular haunted house in North Vancouver has been cancelled this year.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we announce that our annual Edgemont Haunt Halloween event is canceled for 2022. We thank our friends, family, and community for their continued love and support, we’ll see you so next year,” the family posted on social media earlier this month.
The popular haunted house was closed in 2020 due to COVID though it made a scary come back with “It’s only make believe” in 2021. Hosted by a local family, the Edgemont Haunt has been entertaining families for several years. All proceeds from the haunted house went to the BC Professional Firefighters’ Burn Fund.
In 2021, with the help of DNV fire charity, the Edgemont Haunt collectively raised $20,357.
Meanwhile, due to the recent rain, weather forecast, and projected low fire danger rating in the coming weeks, Fire Chiefs from District of North Vancouver Fire & Rescue and West Vancouver Fire & Rescue have decided that fireworks permits will be issued in accordance with Bylaw 7456.
Fireworks, open flames, and smoking are strictly prohibited in parks and forested areas at all times. Halloween fireworks require a permit and may only be set off during specific times.
