A dazzling display of light and colour transformed the North Shore waterfront, as the City of North Vancouver welcomed an internationally toured public art installation to The Shipyards.
In a press release, the City of North Vancouver announced hosting Prismatica, an immersive interactive light installation, from Saturday, March 7 to April 1, 2026, on the Burrard Dry Dock Pier at The Shipyards.
The large-scale exhibit features 25 pivoting prisms, each standing 7’6″ tall and wrapped in a special reflective film that scatters all colours of the rainbow depending on the light source and viewing angle. The towers can be spun and moved by visitors and are described as safe for all ages. Internal projectors illuminate the installation after sunset, adding an entirely new visual dimension to the experience after dark.

The press release noted that Prismatica was originally created for Montréal’s Quartier des Spectacles entertainment district and has since travelled to more than 50 cities around the world, including London, New York, Ottawa, Calgary, and Vancouver.
The installation was designed by Toronto-based multidisciplinary architecture firm RAW Design, in collaboration with ATOMIC3 and Jean-François Piché. The work is one of several public artworks produced by Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, with touring built into its original design. It is distributed internationally by QDSinternational, a non-profit affiliate that produces and circulates participatory public art installations in collaboration with creative partners and exhibitors worldwide.
Prismatica is free and open to the public at the Burrard Dry Dock Pier at The Shipyards in North Vancouver from March 7 to April 1, 2026.
