District of North Vancouver is holding a public hearing for a proposed cannabis store in Lynn Valley today, February 7 at 7 pm.
The public hearing will be held at the municipal hall and virtually. Citizens can also submit their input in writing up to the end of the public hearing. Email it to input@dnv.org or send it by mail to the Municipal Clerk’s office.
The public hearing is for a proposed cannabis retail store at Lynn Valley Centre. It will be located at 124-1199 Lynn Valley Road. Nimbus Cannabis has applied for a cannabis store at the Lynn Valley Centre mall. The unit is located at the back of the mall fronting Conifer Street.
According to a DNV staff report, the store is connected to the internal mall area but the applicant plans a frosted glass wall at the internal entrance. The proposed retail store is approximately 1,150 square feet and consists of a sales area, staff lounge, storage area, and bathroom.
The application as proposed has been reviewed by the LCRB and has passed their preliminary fit and proper assessment, according to the council report. The proposal has also been reviewed by District staff, and no concerns were raised.
