Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for North Shore and other local communities in Metro Vancouver.
An intense frontal system will move across the BC Coast today and Tuesday.
Showers that developed across the region this morning will continue today and are expected to intensify to heavy rain this evening over Metro Vancouver, Howe Sound, west and central Fraser Valley.
Total rainfall accumulation of 60 to 90 mm is expected through Tuesday morning.
The heavy rain will ease by midday Tuesday.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
