RCMP renew plea for public help to locate missing person

August 11, 2022 2:31pm

North Vancouver RCMP are renewing their plea for public assistance in locating missing person George Michas.

Investigators have followed up on leads over the past 15 days including from social media, tips from the public and locations he might attend. Evidence gathered revealed he was last seen on Monday July 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. walking near W 1st Street and Chesterfield Avenue, North Vancouver.

George Michas suffers medical conditions that make him vulnerable.

George Michas is described as:

74-year-old male
Caucasian
Short salt and pepper grey hair and facial hair.

Mr. Michas was last seen wearing the clothing in the photo of him standing next to the stairwell: a loose green t-shirt, black shorts and possibly blue running shoes.

“It has been 15 days since George Michas was last in contact with someone. George Michas left his phone at home when he went out for a walk on July 25 and did not return,” said Cpl. Melissa Jongema of the North Vancouver RCMP. This is out of character for Mr. Michas and his neighbours and loved ones and the police are all concerned. Please call 9-1-1 if you see George Michas.
