Miller Capilano crews have cleared the rock debris from Cypress Bowl Road. The road was closed overnight in both directions due to a rock slide on the road, at Eagle Access Road.

A West Vancouver police officer was also injured and his vehicle destroyed in the incident.

The rock slide happened around 7 pm yesterday. The road was closed though detours were available via Chippendale Road, Chairlift Road, Skilift Road, & the 21st Street interchange on BC Highway 1.

West Vancouver residents can also expect traffic impacts and detours at the intersection of Marine Drive and 15th Street and the intersection of Marine Drive and 14th Street from Sunday, November 13 at 6:30 p.m. until Monday, November 14 at 7 a.m. due to road repair work.

In order to reduce traffic impacts to this busy area, this work must be completed overnight. Traffic will be detoured to Bellevue Avenue and Duchess Avenue via 13th Street and 16th Street.

West Vancouver Transit buses will also be re-routed, with westbound bus stops temporarily relocated to Duchess Avenue, and eastbound bus stops temporarily located to Bellevue Avenue, between 13th Street and 16th Street. The Coast Mountain Bus-operated bus route, 257 Horseshoe Bay Express westbound or Vancouver Express eastbound, will be rerouted via Taylor Way.

Construction signage and traffic control persons will be on-site to assist with traffic flow.
