Canada’s ultimate touring hockey festival is coming to The Shipyards in North Vancouver next month for a weekend of free hockey-themed fun.
On March 14 and 15, the City will partner with Rogers Hometown Hockey to host a family-friendly hockey celebration at The Shipyards featuring a weekend of live entertainment, NHL alumni appearances and hockey-themed activities.
The highlight of the festival will be an outdoor viewing party of a live national NHL broadcast at The Shipyards hosted by Ron MacLean and Tara Slone.
The programming will also feature profiles of the City, hockey enthusiasts and residents from the waterfront location at the City’s Shipyards.
CNV was selected last year to be a Host Community to welcome Rogers Hometown Hockey, one among the 25 communities in Canada where the hockey festival travels to celebrate local hockey stories and the game’s biggest stars.
“The opportunity to showcase our waterfront, home town spirit, hockey fever and our special community to the rest of the country is very exciting,” said Mayor Linda Buchanan.
The City of North Vancouver will be the 23rd stop on the 2020 tour.
Prince Rupert, Abbotsford, Salmon Arm, and Campbell River are other BC communities that will host Rogers Hometown Hockey.
