Rogers Sports & Media says it has made the difficult but important decision to cancel all remaining Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour stops this season, because of the risk associated with COVID-19.
The hockey tour that was scheduled on March 14 and March 15 in the City of North Vancouver has also been cancelled.
“The well-being of the community, fans and our employees is a top priority and we need to take all necessary steps to ensure their safety,” a statement said.
“While this is disappointing for everyone involved, it is the right thing to do.”
Sportsnet’s national broadcast of Rogers Hometown Hockey featuring the Winnipeg Jets vs. Vancouver Canucks on Sunday, March 15 will now be produced from the NHL on Sportsnet studio and will continue to profile local hockey stories from the City of North Vancouver.
