Callie, the dog that was lost on Mount Seymour, still remains missing, the owner has confirmed with North Shore Daily Post. Callie went missing on Mountt Seymour on January 29 around 10 am.
“We don’t want a lot of noise or big search parties, but we do want people exploring the trails at different times of the day,” Samantha Jung wrote in a social media update.
Jung thanked those who shared, reached out, and offered help. “I see you and appreciate you and I’m having trouble keeping up with acknowledgements. I’m humbled by the kindness being shown and was told it’s be best for people other than myself to search for Callie and then to let me know if there is a good sighting. I now rely on all of your help to bring our girl home. I’m beyond exhausted and need to rest or will be no help in finding Callie,” she wrote in a post that has been shared by thousands.
Callie is a tan dog with pointy ears, and wearing a black and pink coat. If the coat fell off, she would have a pink harness underneath. She had a red and gold collar on along with a pink leash. Callie is microchipped and has Jung’s contact info on her collar tag. She is very friendly when she’s comfortable, and loves to play with other dogs and is play motivated.
“Excellent recall when she’s with me. Anxious and nervous around traffic, some men, and unknown sounds. Please do not call or chase Callie,” Jung said. Contact Samantha at 604-318-0643 if you have detailed info on a sighting.
Another way to find a lost dog is the put an article of the owners clothing near to where they lost the dog. Dogs often circle pack to the smell. That might help.
Safe and harm-free traps would be helpful in capturing a lost dog in the woods. See if you can borrow a trap from a nearby shelter or animal rescue center and set it up on the location where your pet was last seen. Check the traps frequently to see if you caught another animal or if it’s your missing dog! If unsuccessful after a week or two, try setting up in another location.
