Christmas trees and window displays,
Gingerbread men and hot chocolate,
Decorations and lights,
It’s a magical time of year.
And magic? It lives here.
This holiday season, come find the magic,
In the villages of Ambleside and Dundarave.
The holiday season is quickly approaching as evident by the Christmas decorations, festive window painting and displays, the annual Forest of Miracles in Dundarave, and, of course, the great giveaways from the Ambleside Dundarave Business Improvement Association.
Last year the ADBIA gave out three gift baskets worth over $2000 each. This year, we are offering five lucky winners prize packages of $1000 each plus 10 consolation prizes of $100 each. We will also be doing random giveaways via our social media platforms and sharing holiday gift ideas to help you find the perfect gift for everyone on your shopping list all month long!
To enter the Holiday Shop to Win contest, simply shop, dine, or use a service at a business in Ambleside or Dundarave between December 1st and midnight December 31, 2022. Clearly print your name, phone number and/or email address on the front or back of your receipt and drop it off at any drop box around town or enter via the online submission form. Winners will be selected by random draw on January 5th, 2023. Full rules and regulations and drop off locations can be found on the ADBIA website.
We will also be hosting special shopping days. On Friday December 9, enjoy late night shopping on Bellevue where businesses will stay open late and offer sales, specials, free gift wrapping, gift with purchase and more. Explore the shops, enjoy a glass of poinsettia punch, a hot chocolate, a warm coffee or some Christmas goodies and take in the holiday décor and the sounds of the strolling carolers singing favourite holiday songs.
On Saturday, December 10, The Grinch will pay a visit to Dundarave Village between 1 pm and 4 pm. There will be free face painting for the kids, carolers to singalong with, and stores with sales and specials, including discounts on select holiday items. Afterwards, grab a gingerbread cookie and a warm beverage before visiting the beautiful display of trees in the Forest of Miracles at Dundarave Beach and vote for your favourite tree.
Our local businesses are the heart and soul of our villages. With contests, giveaways, and events, we hope you can show support to them this holiday season while also finding wonderful treasures and gifts along the way.
