A special weather statement is in effect for North Shore.
Snowfall accumulation of 15 to 25 cm near Whistler and 40 to 60 mm of rainfall can be expected, with more rain possible near the North Shore Mountains and Howe Sound.
The warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday, with wind speed ranging from 60 km/hour to 80 km/hour.
Strong southeast winds will accompany this system. The strongest winds are expected for areas along the Strait of Georgia Friday night into early Saturday morning.
