Splash park at Shipyards open for the season

Staff report
May 28, 2025 8:19am

The Shipyards Splash Park is officially open for the 2025 season, offering families a free and fun way to cool off in the waterfront district.  The splash park will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., weather permitting, until it closes for the season in September.

With sweeping views of Burrard Inlet, the splash park has become a summer fixture for families. Visitors can pack a lunch and settle in at one of the picnic tables overlooking the water or grab food from the surrounding shops and restaurants. Washroom facilities are available on-site.

Rules are posted at the site to ensure safety. Visitors are asked not to enter if they are feeling unwell and to keep a safe distance from others. Children must be supervised at all times, and the city does not provide supervision. Swimsuits or appropriate attire are required.

Running, rough play, and the use of skateboards, bicycles, rollerblades or scooters are not allowed. Food, pets, glass objects, and water balloons are also prohibited. Footwear or sandals are strongly recommended. The Splash Park uses recirculated water, so it is recommended that people refrain from drinking it. A water fountain is available by the nearby Welcome Parlour Ice Cream.
