North Vancouver RCMP has made an arrest in the investigation of an assault on a dog walker in a park in North Vancouver.

On January 23, a woman walking her dogs in McCartney Creek Park on a trail near Northlands Drive reported to the police that she was assaulted by an unknown man. Cell phone video of the incident was widely disseminated on social media, and the incident was widely reported in the media.

The suspect has identified himself to police and is cooperating with the investigation. On February 11, the suspect was arrested for assault and subsequently released on conditions. “While we have made an arrest, charges have not yet been laid, said Cst. Mansoor of North Vancouver RCMP. Our investigation continues and we are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact investigators.”

I hope everyone who saw something at the time or knows something about this guy, contacts the RCMP. All too often bullies try and justify, or find a way to make their behaviour logical so they aren’t charged. And all to often between the legal system and people reluctant to talk – they get away with it. I so hope that doesn’t happen here.
