A quick response from North Vancouver RCMP led to the arrest of a theft suspect and the emotional return of a stolen scooter to its young owner last week.

Police were called to the area near the Lynn Valley Library after a witness reported seeing a man cutting the lock off a scooter before riding away on it. Officers quickly located a suspect matching the description and arrested him while he was still in possession of the stolen scooter.
Upon returning to the scene, officers discovered a young boy in tears, unaware that his scooter had just been recovered. The vehicle was promptly returned to the child, who was visibly distressed by the incident.
The suspect is now facing theft-related charges.
