Two people have died in the fire that ravaged the small community of Lytton.
“With the assistance of the RCMP, the special investigations team at the BC Coroners Service was able to safely access the site yesterday and we can now confirm two fatalities in Lytton,” said the BC Coroner Service.
The service issues a brief statement saying the investigation is ongoing at this time.
However, preliminary findings at the scene suggest those who died match the two earlier deaths reported by their family members.
There has been no additional reports of death related to the Lytton Fire.
British Columbians who have been evacuated from their communities due to ongoing wildfires are being urged to register with Emergency Support Services, whether or not you need support.
This will ensure the loved ones and communities know where the evacuees are.

Evacuee reception centres have been established in communities such as Kamloops, Chilliwack, Kelowna, Merritt, 100 Mile House, Aggasiz, Fort St. John, Shxwhay Village, Kelowna, Pemberton and Williams Lake.
