Two people who work at the Lynn Valley Care Centre have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the latest update by the BC government.
Both are health care workers at the centre, and both are women in their 40s and 50s. There are no new cases of coronavirus among the residents.
Yesterday, the government announced that a male resident at the Lynn Valley centre had died from the coronavirus.
“There has been a considerable focus on the Lynn Valley Care Centre in recent days. As the investigation continues, we have had to work hard to ensure there are enough staff to fully support the residents on site. We had some initial challenges but are confident we have the right resources now to move forward,” the government said.
Five more people have tested positive for the virus, one of whom is in the 90s.
As many as 39 people have tested positive for the virus so far in the province.
Meanwhile Collingwood school in West Vancouver has declared an early spring break because of concerns over the virus.
