Two restaurants shutting down at Park Royal mall

Two restaurants are shutting doors at the Park Royal shopping mall after serving customers for several years.

In a brief announcement, Park Royal said White Spot will close on March 16. The restaurant has been serving its favourite meals for over 60 years. The company has not found any suitable location but is always looking for new sites and opportunities, told local media last month.

Trattoria Park Royal, a popular Italian restaurant in Park Royal South, will close after serving residents for a decade. The eatery is owned by Glowbal Group and has been a favourite among regular diners in the area. However, according to a representative, escalating rent made it challenging to sustain the business. The restaurant’s lease was not renewed. Trattoria will be open until April 16.

Park Royal also informs the community that ramp access from North Mall to Taylor Way Northbound is closed for repair. “We apologize for any inconvenience and thank visitors in advance for their patience while we make these necessary repairs and upgrades,” the mall said.

All I can say is if both of these restaurants are having to close down due to rent increases then the space deserves to stay empty.
Greedy management and owners deserve nothing when they want established businesses to leave rather than work with them to make it accommodating for everyone.

Park Royal has become such a joke under its greedy Management. The old North and South Mall of the 70’s & 80’s with all the family run businesses and a few larger anchor ones was an excellent blend. If one was to speculate, I’d say its a play by PR management to change the mall site into high density housing towers. Is that what WV needs?

    I completely agree with DAR.
