Local residents are invited to share their input on two development applications in Upper Lonsdale and Grand Boulevard area of the City of North Vancouver.

Vernacular Group has submitted a rezoning application to the City of North Vancouver for 1036 Grand Boulevard. A successful rezoning would support the development of two single-family units through a sub-division.

The session is on September 14, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Interested public members are invited to attend the Virtual Development Information session with the applicant for an early opportunity to review the proposal. To participate, contact Marie Del Borrello by email at Marie@vernaculardev.com or by phone number at 604-990-6662. Provide your name and address to register.

Meantime, Hearth Architecural Inc is also holding a virtual information session where the interested public members can learn about their application for a 2-storey triplex building located at 259 East 23rd Street in the Central Lonsdale area of the City of North Vancouver.

This information meeting is on September 13, from 6 pm to 8 pm. The architect, Joe Muego, can be contacted at 604-266-4677 or joe@hearthworks.ca to register for the session.

    As for application for 1036 Grand Blvd., the question that I ask, could a design be less suited to the surroundings, more out of step with the neighborhood?…..my opinion /answer would be NO! Flat roof boxes, come on, better can and should be done!

    The Grand Blvd. neighborhood I believe to be a special place within the City and that preservation of it’s character should always be top of mind.
