The woman shot in the 1100 block of Lonsdale Avenue around 11 am remains in critical condition at the hospital.
Police were called to the area just before 11 a.m. after witnesses reported hearing gunshots. When frontline officers arrived, they discovered an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds.
The area surrounding the scene will remain cordoned off for a significant amount of time, but there is no ongoing risk to the public stemming from this incident, said Sgt. Peter DeVries of North Vancouver RCMP.
He said Serious Crimes investigators are in the evidence gathering phase of the investigation, and are not providing any further information at this time.
