BC Highway Patrol issued several tickets and impounded vehicles for travelling 150 km/ hour in an 80 km/ hour zone on January 17.
On January 13, BC Highway Patrol was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 99 when officers saw a van travelling 109 km/hour in a 60 km/hour zone.
The van did not immediately stop when asked to and continued driving for some time before stopping. The van driver was issued a speeding ticket and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
BC Highway is reminding the public to remain within the posted speed limit. “Maintaining the posted speed limit will reduce accidents and possible road closures due to the accidents. It will also allow everyone driving this beautiful scenic highway to get to their destination safely.”
